In-Line Centrifugal Separators
Centrifugal Separators | Vane Type Separators | Gas Liquid Separators
These separators are designed for horizontal or vertical downflow and remove liquids or solids from a vapor stream. The following models fit this need: WL, WLB, WLUT and WLC.
The simplicity of the operation of these units with our patented “Whirl-A-Way” internal is the reason for the success of this type of entrainment separator. Liquids and solids will precipitate from gases by the forces of gravity alone, but by whirling these gasses through fixed directional vanes, separating forces can be multiplied many times due to centrifugal action. All of these separators deliver 99.9% of all particles 5-10 microns and larger and can be fabricated with any material that can be formed and welded.
Precaution: Not recommended for liquid loadings over 10%. If solids are present, the unit must have a sufficient amount of liquids to flush the solids out to drain.
WL Use: For removal of liquids or solids from a vapor stream where no storage capacity is required.
Configuration: Horizontal or Vertical downflow
Operating Range: 35% to 115%
Features: 1. Self cleaning.
2. Low cost.
WLB Use: For removal of liquids or solids from a vapor stream with small amounts of storage.
Configuration: Horizontal
Operating Range: 35% to 115%
Features: 1. Limited storage capacity is available.
2. Self cleaning.
3. Low cost.
WLUT Use: For removal of liquids or solids from a vapor stream.
Configuration: In-Line Vertical upflow
Operating Range: 35% to 115%
Features: 1. Self cleaning.
2. Low cost.
WLC Use: For removal of liquids or solids from a vapor stream in which the liquid particles are too small and require agglomeration.
Configuration: Horizontal In-Line or Vertical downflow
Operating Range: 35% to 115%
Features:
1. A coalescing element placed upstream of a separating element allows very small liquid particles to build up until they are large enough to be separated. A boot can be added if liquid storage is desired. Can be furnished with body flanges to facilitate cleaning of coalescer element.
2. Low cost.
3. Self cleaning.
